Angie Rosener
Music has always been a part of Angie Rosener’s life. Raised on a farm outside of Ute, Iowa, Angie grew up in a musical family - taking piano lessons from her Mom and singing and playing string bass in a bluegrass band with her sister. She went on to major in music education at Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska and teaches TK-8th grade vocal and 5th-8th grade instrumental music at Schleswig Community School in Schleswig, IA. She and her husband John are the proud parents of three daughters: Ashley, Sara, and Jenna.
Angie Rosener's musical career has included performances at several benefits, banquets, county fairs, the Iowa State Fair, and Nebraska's Cattlemen's Ball for cancer research where she was featured on RFDTV. Angie has also performed as one of the opening acts for national Country Music performer Sara Evans, and was invited to sing at Iowa State Representative Jason Schultz’s fundraiser in August of 2012, and later by Congressman Steve King in October of 2012. The latter event also included former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum and Iowa’s Lieutenant Governor Kim Reynolds in attendance.
Angie Rosener was recently featured on two different Sioux City, Iowa television stations, KTIV Channel 4 and KCAU Channel 9, for a song that she wrote with her sister and Mom entitled, Tough Times. It was dedicated to the people of Mapleton, Iowa after a tornado devastated the town on April 9, 2011. A prodigious songwriter and musician, Angie released her first self-penned CD entitled, Feelings in July of 2012. It features eight songs that were all written or co-written by Angie. The positive feedback and reviews of the CD received the attention of Dension, Iowa radio station KDSN FM 107.1/AM 1530, and Cowlington, Oklahoma radio station KKRP 1610 AM, and the stations have been playing Angie’s songs to receptive audiences and enthusiastic fans.
The vocal talent that Angie Rosener possesses has also awarded her several prizes including an eight hour studio recording session in Tennessee. She has won first place at the local level on two different occasions in the Colgate Country Showdown, a national singing competition. From there, she was runner-up at the state level in 2006 at Fort Madison, IA and in 2009 at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, South Dakota, where she was one of the opening acts for Ronnie Milsap. She is a three-time winner of the Wisecup Farm Museum Vocal Contest, which earned her a trip to Branson, Missouri where she was the pre-show entertainment for the Dutton Family Show and The Brett Family Morning Show held at the Legends Theatre and Dick Clark's American Bandstand Theatre. She has also been the pre-show entertainment at The Ozark Mountain Hoedown show in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. One of her biggest musical career highlights has been singing in the Kremlin in Moscow, Russia with the Wayne State Madrigal Singers as well as touring seven European countries with the Iowa Ambassadors of Music.
