is a tradition at Oktoberfest in Munich, and had its inaugural debut at Norfolk’s Oktoberfest in 2014. For the Men’s competition participants must hold two full “Masskrugs” or 1 liter steins filled with beer in front of them. Their arms cannot bend or fall below parallel. Contestants are given two warnings before being eliminated. The Women’s competition is the same but only one arm is used. The last person holding the “Masskrug(s)” wins $50 in Cash Now and a 1.0 Liter “Das Boot:” a traditional drinking glass in the shape of a boot! |

Oktoberfest started in 1810 in Bavaria to celebrate
the wedding of Prince Ludwig I. Every year, this historical celebration begins in the third week of September. Today, Northeast Nebraska residents celebrate the area’s German heritage and the fall harvest with this two-day family festival. Oktoberfest grows yearly with live music, German food, beer garden, and family entertainment. Held in conjunction with the Lion’s Club Parade and the River Point Arts Festival, this unique festival is a must see! |

Free entry this year! This stein holding competition
is a tradition at Oktoberfest in Munich, and had its inaugural debut at Norfolk’s Oktoberfest in 2014. For the Men’s competition participants must hold two full “Masskrugs” or 1 liter steins filled with beer in front of them. Their arms cannot bend or fall below parallel. Contestants are given two warnings before being eliminated. The Women’s competition is the same but only one arm is used. The last person holding the “Masskrug(s)” wins $50 in Cash Now and a 1.0 Liter “Das Boot:” a traditional drinking glass in the shape of a boot! |

Did you know: Radtour is German for “Bicycle
Ride.” The Oktoberfest Radtour is a signature event each year for riders at every level. Registration for the 2016 Radtour is open! Starting and stopping in the middle of the Oktoberfest venue, this bike ride includes 2 route options; At the end of the race, all adult riders will receive an ice cold brew or rootbeer float and all youth riders will receive a free kid zone ticket and rootbeer float. |

Oktoberfest started in 1810 in Bavaria to celebrate the
wedding of Prince Ludwig I. Today Norfolk area residents
celebrate the area’s German heritage and the fall harvest
every year with a two day family festival. Occurring at the
end of September, Oktoberfest grows yearly with live music,
German food, beer garden, and family entertainment. Usually
held in conjunction with the Lion’s Club Parade and Riverpoint
Arts Festival the Norfolk Oktoberfest is a must see!

A Day of Art in the Park! Artists, Music, Kids Zone, Kayaks, Theatre,
Food, Family Fun, and Live Demos! Children will enjoy the Kid Zone with
face painting, pet rock decorating, mask-making, a rope maze, spray paint
wall and so much more! For the second year the full troupe of the “Carson
Cow Tippers” Clowns will be offering face-painting, glitter tattoos and
balloon animals. Festival favorites from years past will also return,
including pumpkin decorating!
North Fork Outfitter's will be doing a "Return to the North Fork" float where attendees will have the opportunity to float from the beginning of the "fork" of the river and float back to the festival.
